Palcon PalletÔ

The Palcon PalletÔ was developed for use in the food industry or any industry that can not risk the possibility of insect infestation or mold. Also, these pallets are considered a perminent treatment method for shipments to Australia.   Unlike a fumigated pallet, the Palcon PalletÔ is dip treated. Dip treating allows the chemical to be absorbed via osmosis into the core of the pallet. This provides protection against wood boring insects, decay fungi, and mold for the life of the pallet.

The Palcon PalletÔ is treated with U.S Borax's Tim-bor® Industrial Wood Preservative.

Tim-Bor® is an EPA registered chemical consisting of Disodium Octaborate Tetrahydrate, which is highly toxic to fungi and wood boring insects. Tim-Bor® is a safe product, which has low acute oral and dermal toxicity to animals and humans.

The Palcon PalletÔ is an inexpensive alternative to plastic pallets, and is ideal for use in industries that can not tolerate wood boring insect infestation or mold. In addition, the Palcon Pallet is ideal for use in warehouses and warm-humid environments.

The Palcon PalletÔ comes in a variety of dimensions and can be custom built for individual applications.

Please call 1-800-838-2023 for a information and to find out how treated pallets can help eliminate insects in your facility.

Palcon's new heat treating facility will treat up to 5,200 pallets per day..  Pallets heat sterilized to internal temperatures of 56ºC(133ºF) to74ºC (165ºF), which satisfies various international requirements. New regulations require all softwood pallets and crates entering any EU country to be heat-treated or fumigated.  Heat-treating must be done by a certified manufacturer and the softwood pallet or crate needs to be stamped with the following stamp:

Used Pallets: Since there is no way of guaranteeing the type of lumber used to repair  recycled pallets, used pallets will need to be certified and stamped as fumigated or heat-treated.

Palcon's heat-treating system will be a safe and effective method for heat sterilization.  The system will treat both new and used pallets.  Heat sterilized pallets will be safe alternative to fumigated pallets.
